Windows 7 Problem Step Recorder ini dapat merekam kegiatan apa saja yang kita lakukan. Sebaiknya sebelum datang ke teknisi, kita rekam dahulu proses yang menimbulkan masalah tersebut. Setelah Anda selesai merekam, file tersebut akan disimpan kedalam dokumen MHT (webpage) yang dipaketkan menjadi file ZIP, sehingga mudah untuk dibawa.
Selain itu, kita juga bisa menggunakan aplikasi ini untuk membuat panduan langkah-demi-langkah penyelesaian sebuah masalah.
Bagaimana cara menjalankan Windows 7 Problem Step Recorder ini ?
Kita klik Start  Menu > Run kemudian ketikkan psr.

Memperbaiki Flashdisk yang Rusak

Dalam beberapa kasus kerusakan pada flashdisk, ada 2 jenis kasus kerusakan yang terjadi pada flashdisk, yang pertama flashdisk tersebut memang sudah rusak di karenakan komponen nya memang sudah ada yang terganggu, tetapi ada juga kasus kerusakan pada flashdisk yang kerusakan tersebut terletak pada software nya.
Nah, untuk kasus yang kedua yaitu kerusakan flashdisk yang terletak pada kerusakan software nya ini merupakan kasus yang biasanya terjadi pada kebanyakan flashdisk, dan biasanya flashdisk tersebut langsung di buang oleh si pemilik nya.
Sebenarnya ada beberapa cara untuk membetulkan flashdisk yang rusak yang di sebabkan oleh kerusakan yang terletak pada software flashdisk tersebut. berikut ini adalah cara-cara nya :
1. download software Hp drive boot utility melalui link ini
2. instal software yang telah di download.
3. pasang flashdisk anda ke komputer
4. jalankan aplikasi yang sudah di instal tadi
5. Pilih tipe format disk yang mau di gunakan (FAT, FAT32 atau NTFS)
6. Pilih Quick Format
7. Pilih Create New or Replace Existing Configuration
Dalam beberapa kasus memang ada yang berhasil ada juga yang tidak, itu tergantung dari letak kerusakan, jika memang terletak pada software flashdisk tersebut maka flashdisk pun dapat di gunakan kembali.
Tetapi bila letak kerusakan pada komponen nya, maka kerusakan tersebut tidak dapat dibetulkan dengan cara ini.

Remove Linux From Your PC Safely

First of all you need to know where your Linux OS is installed to. that is what drive it is currently living on. Bear in mind that Linux formats the drive as HFS rather than Fat/Fat32 or NTFS. ( These are the file systems used by various Operating Systems).

So HFS Partitions are not seen by windows, so its hidden.

To remove the partitions of Linux in WindowsXP go to your 'Control panel' > Admistrative Tools > Computer Managment

Open 'Disk Management' and you will see your Linux drives recognised as 'Unknown Partition' plus the status of the drive. Bearing in mind you know what partition and disk you installed to it will be easier to recognise as the drive/partition where you had installed it to.

Once you have identifed the drives, 'right-Click' on the drive/partiton and select 'Delete Logical Drive'

Once you have followed this through, you will now have free space.

This next part is very important. Once you have formatted the drive, re format it as your required file system type. either Fat32 or NTFS. Now the important part is coming up !

Fixing your Master Boot Record to make Windows Bootable again.

Have a Windows Boot disk with all the basic DOS Commands loaded on to the disk. A standard Windows 98/Me Boot Disk will work too.

Type in the DOS command :

e.g, from your C:\

fdisk /mbr

Or use your Windows XP run the recovery console, pick which xp install you would like to boot in to (usually you will pick #1)

then type: fixmbr. Answer Y to the dialoge.

Your master boot record will now be restored and Windows XP will be bootable once again. Your System will be restored with your original boot loader that you got with Windows XP.

   

Change Text On XP Start Buttons

Step 1 - Modify Explorer.exe File

In order to make the changes, the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows needs to be edited. Since explorer.exe is a binary file it requires a special editor. For purposes of this article I have used Resource Hacker. Resource HackerTM is a freeware utility to view, modify, rename, add, delete and extract resources in 32bit Windows executables and resource files (*.res). It incorporates an internal resource script compiler and decompiler and works on Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems.

The first step is to make a backup copy of the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer. Place it in a folder somewhere on your hard drive where it will be safe. Start Resource Hacker and open explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer.exe.

The category we are going to be using is "String Table". Expand it by clicking the plus sign then navigate down to and expand string 37 followed by highlighting 1033. If you are using the Classic Layout rather than the XP Layout, use number 38. The right hand pane will display the stringtable. We’re going to modify item 578, currently showing the word “start” just as it displays on the current Start button.

There is no magic here. Just double click on the word “start” so that it’s highlighted, making sure the quotation marks are not part of the highlight. They need to remain in place, surrounding the new text that you’ll type. Go ahead and type your new entry. In my case I used Click Me!

You’ll notice that after the new text string has been entered the Compile Script button that was grayed out is now active. I won’t get into what’s involved in compiling a script, but suffice it to say it’s going to make this exercise worthwhile. Click Compile Script and then save the altered file using the Save As command on the File Menu. Do not use the Save command – Make sure to use the Save As command and choose a name for the file. Save the newly named file to C:\Windows.


Step 2 – Modify the Registry

Now that the modified explorer.exe has been created it’s necessary to modify the registry so the file will be recognized when the user logs on to the system. If you don’t know how to access the registry I’m not sure this article is for you, but just in case it’s a temporary memory lapse, go to Start (soon to be something else) Run and type regedit in the Open field. Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

In the right pane, double click the "Shell" entry to open the Edit String dialog box. In Value data: line, enter the name that was used to save the modified explorer.exe file. Click OK.

Close Registry Editor and either log off the system and log back in, or reboot the entire system if that’s your preference. If all went as planned you should see your new Start button with the revised text.[/b]

untuk menggunakannya, kita tinggal klik kanan pada folder atau file yang akan diubah propertinya kemudian klik properties,

disana akan terlihat ada menu / tab tambahan yaitu Attributes.

Untuk melihat dan mengubah file yang beratribut hiden atau system, pada folder options viewnya harus diubah dulu

klik Menu tools-->Folder Options-->View, pilih/tandai Show hidden files and folders, hilangkan centang pada Hide protected operating system files.

Cara Proteksi Windows Explorer

Untuk memproteksi Windows Explorer sebenernya ada banyak sekali software yang dapat melakukan hal itu, namun pada kesempatan kali ini saya akan memberikan tips mengenai Cara Proteksi Windows Explorer dengan cara manual tanpa bantuan software pihak ketiga. Hehee

Oke, langsung aja yah.

1. Pertama buka window explore, kemudian klik menu tools-> Folder Options-> View. Buang tanda centang pada use simple file sharing (recommended).

2. Cari folder yang akan anda lock dan klik kanan -> properties-> security. (Disana akan ada gambar user dengan id everyone.)
3. Klik tombol "add" dan isi dengan account anda. Misal "remoxp" dan OK. (Centang semua pada allow).

4. Ulangi langkah no 3 dan isikan account misal "xp-sports"
5. Centang Deny pada read execute, list folder dan read. (Artinya account xp-sports tidak diperbolehkan membuka flder ini).
6. Untuk mencobanya, sebaiknya buat folder baru terlebih dahulu, karena bila salah setting folder pribadi anda akan terkunci.
