Kemungkinan Mengapa USB Flash Disk tidak Terdeteksi PC

Beberapa hal yang patut dicurigai ketika UFD (USB Flash Disk) yang kita miliki tidak terdeteksi saat dicolok ke PC, antara lain :
- Port USB Rusak
- Setting bermasalah ( Bios, Windows)
- Driver bermasalah
- Rusak secara Fisik
- dll
Untuk mencoba mengatasinya maka dapat dilakukan beberapa hal berikut ini :
1. Coba colok USB kita pada Port USB yang lain /pindah-pindah, jika belum berhasil coba colokan ke PC lain, apabila berhasil maka USB kita tidak bermasalah dan kecurigaan 100% kepada PC.
2. Atau dilakukan sebaliknya, coba colokan USB lain di PC kita (jika ada)/ atau perangkat lain yang menggunakan usb port. Dengan asumsi, jika alat yang kita hubungkan terdeteksi, maka port USB tidak bermasalah.
3. Cek di settingan BIOS barangkali disable sengaja atau tidak, hal ini bisa saja terjadi perubahan setting dengan tidak kita sadari manakala baterai MotherBoard kita udah soak / lemah.
4. Cek di Device Manager , caranya :
- klik start > settings > Control Panels.
- Dobel Klik pada icon system,
- Setelah terbuka jendela Syistem Properties, klik tab Hardware
- Klik tombol Device Manager
- Kemudian cek di bagian Universal Serial Bus Controllers, terlihat ada masalah
- Tanda tanya pada bagian ini menandakan hardware tidak dikenal atau td ada driver
- Tanda silang berwarna merah pada bagian ini menandakan disable, maka jika ini terjadi lakukan klik kanan dan pilih enable
- Termasuk dalam hal ini kemungkinan perlu install ulang driver USB Flash disk

5. Cek pada registry, caranya :
- Klik Start > Run
- Ketikan : regedit kemudian enter
- Masuk ke : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor
- Pada value Dwords harus bernilai 3 (enable), jika bukan 3 maka update dengan 3 lalu close dan restart
6. Kemungkinan yang lainnya adalah PC terjangkit Virus, maka harus dibersihkan dari virus dengan menggunakan anti virus
7. Jika mencurigai sebuah software yang baru diinstall sebagai penyebabnya maka coba uninstall dahulu software tersebut.
8. Coba gunakan software utiliti untuk find dan mount partisi 

Change Text On XP Start Buttons

Step 1 - Modify Explorer.exe File

In order to make the changes, the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows needs to be edited. Since explorer.exe is a binary file it requires a special editor. For purposes of this article I have used Resource Hacker. Resource HackerTM is a freeware utility to view, modify, rename, add, delete and extract resources in 32bit Windows executables and resource files (*.res). It incorporates an internal resource script compiler and decompiler and works on Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems.

The first step is to make a backup copy of the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer. Place it in a folder somewhere on your hard drive where it will be safe. Start Resource Hacker and open explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer.exe.

The category we are going to be using is "String Table". Expand it by clicking the plus sign then navigate down to and expand string 37 followed by highlighting 1033. If you are using the Classic Layout rather than the XP Layout, use number 38. The right hand pane will display the stringtable. We’re going to modify item 578, currently showing the word “start” just as it displays on the current Start button.

There is no magic here. Just double click on the word “start” so that it’s highlighted, making sure the quotation marks are not part of the highlight. They need to remain in place, surrounding the new text that you’ll type. Go ahead and type your new entry. In my case I used Click Me!

You’ll notice that after the new text string has been entered the Compile Script button that was grayed out is now active. I won’t get into what’s involved in compiling a script, but suffice it to say it’s going to make this exercise worthwhile. Click Compile Script and then save the altered file using the Save As command on the File Menu. Do not use the Save command – Make sure to use the Save As command and choose a name for the file. Save the newly named file to C:\Windows.


Step 2 – Modify the Registry

Now that the modified explorer.exe has been created it’s necessary to modify the registry so the file will be recognized when the user logs on to the system. If you don’t know how to access the registry I’m not sure this article is for you, but just in case it’s a temporary memory lapse, go to Start (soon to be something else) Run and type regedit in the Open field. Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

In the right pane, double click the "Shell" entry to open the Edit String dialog box. In Value data: line, enter the name that was used to save the modified explorer.exe file. Click OK.

Close Registry Editor and either log off the system and log back in, or reboot the entire system if that’s your preference. If all went as planned you should see your new Start button with the revised text.[/b]

Cara Proteksi Windows Explorer

Untuk memproteksi Windows Explorer sebenernya ada banyak sekali software yang dapat melakukan hal itu, namun pada kesempatan kali ini saya akan memberikan tips mengenai Cara Proteksi Windows Explorer dengan cara manual tanpa bantuan software pihak ketiga. Hehee

Oke, langsung aja yah.

1. Pertama buka window explore, kemudian klik menu tools-> Folder Options-> View. Buang tanda centang pada use simple file sharing (recommended).

2. Cari folder yang akan anda lock dan klik kanan -> properties-> security. (Disana akan ada gambar user dengan id everyone.)
3. Klik tombol "add" dan isi dengan account anda. Misal "remoxp" dan OK. (Centang semua pada allow).

4. Ulangi langkah no 3 dan isikan account misal "xp-sports"
5. Centang Deny pada read execute, list folder dan read. (Artinya account xp-sports tidak diperbolehkan membuka flder ini).
6. Untuk mencobanya, sebaiknya buat folder baru terlebih dahulu, karena bila salah setting folder pribadi anda akan terkunci.

Anda tidak dapat membuang file atau memasukan file ke dalam Flash Disk. Upaya melakukan format pada Flash Disk mendapatkan pesan Write Protect. Flash Disk terkadang mengalami hal yang sama bila digunakan oleh computer berbeda. Dan tetap tidak dapat digunakan oleh computer anda, walaupun terkadang dapat bekerja pada computer lain

Tip dengan CHKDSK dan Format melalui Dos Prompt:
Masuk ke DOS Prompt Windows XP dan ketik CHKDSK /F Drive letter : (chkdsk /f v:)
Selesai memeriksa dari Check Disk (CHKDSK), coba anda buang file yang ada pada Flash Disk dengan perintah Del drive letter:*.*. Contoh pada perintah membuang file dari Flash Disk di drive V: adalah DEL V:*.*

Sekali lagi anda coba format dengan perintah Dos Promt. Format V:
Atau gunakan cara melalui Computer Management dan lihat volume drive V, dan anda coba format. Bila masih terdapat pesan error lakukan boot pada computer

Result
Flash disk anda mengalami corrupt. Cara yang disebutkan diatas adalah untuk memperbaiki flash disk yang corrupt file dan mengalami file protect ketika mengcopy atau memindahkan data serta tidak dapat melakukan format.

Selesai melakukan format pada Flash Disk, tetapi anda mendapat pesan yang sama ketika melakukan format. Coba anda lakukan boot pada computer untuk me-refresh Windows XP agar mengenal Flash Disk anda. Bila masih mengalami hal sama, coba anda ulangi kembali melakukan chkdsk, bila masih terdapat pesan invalid link. Bila kedua kalinya anda masih mengalami hal tersebut, cara yang kami berikan tidak berlaku untuk flash disk anda

Kasus Flash Disk Write Protect terkadang hanya terjadi pada satu buah computer sementara beberapa waktu masih dapat digunakan oleh computer berbeda. Tetapi dapat juga langsung terjadi pada semua computer yang ketika anda menghubungkan Flash Disk anda baik pada sistem Windows XP atau OS lain

Hal lain dapat saja membuat error pada flash disk anda dan belum tentu disebabkan karena corrupt file yang membuat kasus seperti diatas.

Ada dua software installer yang harus anda download di your-freedom.
Klik download> OpenVPN [windows/zip] pilih.


c) Tunggu hingga selesai, lanjutkan ke berikutnya.

Langkah Kedua
1) Installs kedua file yang anda download tersebut satu persatu di computer/laptop.
a. Pertama install OpenVpn Gui, dan jangan merubah atau mengconfigurasinya [default].

b. Kedua install Your-freedom.de. dan jangan merubah atau mengconfigurasinya [default].

Pada tahap ini ada baiknya kami jelaskan kembali sebelum anda mengconfigurasi your-freedom.
i. Hubungkan modem/handphone [sbg modem] ke PC/Laptop anda. Pastikan modem sudah aktif> klik connection, jika belum anda tidak bisa menjalankan internet gratisan.
ii. Simcard indosat im3 membutuhkan pulsa sebesar 1 rupiah. Bagaimana caranya untuk mendapatkan pulsa tersebut ?

I. Double klik “Open Vpn GUI” > Jangan mengconfigurasi [default]

Isi data pada kotak yg tersedia sebelah kanan.
• Minimum buffer size : 1500
• RTT measurements : 20000
• Reconnection delay : 5000
• Initial POS size : 1000000
• Minimum POS size : 200000
• FTP mode : both
Jika semua data tersebut sudah terisi dengan benar, lanjutkan>
IV. Klik Setting pada Taksbar. > beri ceklis pada [] Do not show pop-up windows [] bits/sec pada Bandwidth unit. Seperti Gb, dibawah ini.

V. Klik Account Information >
Isi Username :
Isi Password :
[ Nama dan password yang telah anda daftarkan pada Your-Freedom ].
Lihat Gb. Dibawah ini.

Lanjutkan >
VI. Klik Proxy Settings pada taskbar >
pilih pada pilihan Proxy type [] HTTP/HTTPS > dan
pilih pada pilihan Proxy Authentication [] basic or none.

VII. Klik Save and Exit. Pada tahap ini sudah selesai.

Langkah kedua.
I. Double klik “Your-freedom” >

• Klik Start Connection > jika belum berjalan > klik Stop > Klik Start Connection.ulangi hingga berhasil. Jika tidak.
• Klik Stop > Klik Configure. Kemudian lanjutkan.


• Klik Wizard > kemudian

• Klik Next > kemudian

• Tunggu hingga process selesai > kemudian

Gb, menampilkan process analiza your-freedom.
Apabila process analiza telah selesai maka akan tampak seperti Gambar dibawah ini. Your-freedom akan menampilkan IP address mana yang sedang aktif. IP Address tersebut bisa anda gonta-ganti nantinya, IP Address mana yang bisa dijalankan. Hasil process analiza your-freedom tersebut lihat Gb. dibawah ini




Setelah anda mendapatkan hasil seperti gambar diatas tersebut, anda sudah dapat menjalankan Gratis Internetan. Dengan memasukan pilihan IP address yang anda mau. Bagaimana caranya ? anda Klik Start Connection | pada Status Your freedom.
Lihat pd Gb dibawah ini. Your-freedom sudah berjalan.




Setelah pintu Coklat terbuka dan matahari bersinar, anda sudah bisa berinternet Gratis, dan jika pintu kembali tertutup, yang anda harus lakukan adalah mengganti IP Address yang lainnya, dan jangan lupa setiap kali anda mengganti IP [klik Save and Exit] klik Exit. Kemudian buka your freedom kembali. Semoga Sukses.

Pengaturan pada Mozilla
• Klik Tools > klik Option > kemudian

• Klik Advanced > klik Network > klik Settings > kemudian

• Pilih No. proxy > atau Auto-detect proxy

Optimalkan windows anda dengan tangan kosong tanpa software

 

1. Gunakan No Sound dengan cara
start>control panel>sounds>pilih tab sounds>kemudian pada sound schemes pilih dengan "no sounds" kemudian keluar warning box kemudian klik YES dan tulis dengan nama "default", apabila anda ingin mengembalikan seperti kondisi semula gan ti no sound dengan default
NB: no sounds disini maksudnya maka komputer ada akan mute semuanya, tetapi hanya suara2 yang menurut saya "kurang penting" seperti suara pembuka dan penutup etc, sedang kan untuk mp3 dll masi bisa digunakan

2 Run Services.msc (module default Windows XP)

Windows XP melakukan loading dari module program yang lengkap dengan tujuan untuk menyamankan pemakai sistem operasi selalu siap tersedia. Sayangnya tidak semua orang membutuhkan module program yang diloading dari sistem Default WinXP. Selain memakan resource memory karena module dijalankan pertama kali ketika computer bekerja, terkadang malah membuat sistem operasi Windows menjadi sedikit lebih lambat.

Fitur module program yang tidak diperlu dapat dimatikan melalui fasilitas SERVICE.MSC.

Caranya:
Masuk ke bagian Start dan Run serta ketik "service.msc". Selanjutnya akan muncul daftar service dari program module yang defaultnya selalu diloading oleh Windows XP. Untuk mematikan service module Windows, pada gambar kedua anda melihat pada daftar program dan STATUS. Pada daftar status, anda dapat melihat apakah program Module Windows XP selalu dijalankan ketika pertama kali Windows bekerja, atau secara otomatis bila dibutuhkan baru bekerja dan terakhir tidak dijalankan sama sekali (Disable)

Dibawah ini adalah daftar komponen Windows secara default diloading tetapi kemungkinan tidak diperlukan untuk beberapa kebutuhan (Sumber Techtree)

Computer Browser
Module ini untuk memonitor daftar dari computer yang terhubung kedalam jaringan Network. Module Computer Browser dapat dimatikan bila anda mengunakan computer dirumah tanpa terhubung dengan network / LAN.

Distributed Link Tracking Client
Module ini difungsikan untuk memonitor hubungan antar NTFS file didalam computer sendiri atau jaringn network dengan nama domain. Fungsi module ini hanya dibutuhkan bila seseorang membutuhkan link ke computer lain pada sebuah file. Tidak semua orang membutuhkan link dari dan ke computer anda untuk sebuah file dan anda dapat mematikan (Disable).

Error Reporting Service
Fungsi module Error Reporting Service adalah memberikan laporan bila Windows XP terganggu. Fungsi ini tidak berguna dan dapat di Disable.

Help and Support

Indexing Service
Indexes contents and properties of files on local and remote computers bertujuan untuk mempercepat access ke file dengan cara antiran secara flexibel. Service ini tidak dibutuhkan.

Net Logon
Supports pass-through authentication of account logon events for computers in a domain. Bila anda terhubung dengan network dan sebuah domain. Fitur ini diperlukan, tetapi bila anda hanya mengunakan computer sendiri saja dan tidak memiliki domain. Fitur ini dapat dimatikan.

NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing
FItur ini untuk memberikan access ke computer anda melalui Netmeeting lewat jaringan Intranet. Jika anda tidak berkenan memberikan access kepada orang lain, khususnya dengan cara Remote ke computer anda. Sebaiknya fitur ini dimatikan.

Network Location Awareness (NLA)
Module ini untuk mencatat dan menyimpan daftar network konfigurasi serta informasi lokasi. Fungsi ini tidak membantu, dan dapat dimatikan.

Network Provisioning Service
Manages XML configuration files on a domain basis for automatic network provisioning. Tidak dibutuhkan untuk computer home dan sistem simple network. Fitur dapat dimatikan.

Performance Logs and Alerts
Fitur module untuk mencatat performa computer dan kegiatan lain yang dicatat pada sebuah file (Log file). Anda tidak perlu pusing dengan performa sistem Windows anda, matikan karena tidak banyak berguna untuk stand-alone.

Portable Media Serial Number Service
Retrieves the serial number of any portable media player connected to this computer. Fungsi module ini tidak berguna dan hanya diperuntukan bagi Windows Media based/compatible ("PlaysForSure") portable. Pemakai MP3 tidak membutuhkan fitur ini dan sebaiknya dimatikan.

QoS RSVP
Menyediakan pengiriman network signal dan kontrol pada local traffic. Fungsi module dengan konsep memberikan bandwidth lebih besar bagi kebutuhan aplikasi. Nyatanya fungsi ini tidak terlalu berdampak. Pilihan dapat dimatikan atau tetap digunakan.

Remote Desktop Help Session Manager
Manages and controls Remote Assistance. Belum diketahui fungsinya untuk apa, Remote Assistance bisa diterima. Atau tidak diperlukan dan dapat dimatikan.

Remote Registry
Memberikan otorisasi remote user memodifikasi registry pada sebuah computer. Sebaiknya dimatikan.

Security Center
Monitors system security settings and configurations." Menampilkan Pop Up ketika firewall down, Anti virus telah out o date atau sistem Windows update sengaja dimatikan.
Bila anda selalu memonitor ke 3 fungsi diatas, fitur ini dapat dimatikan.Karena fungsi Security center hanya memonitor dan bukan mencegah dan lebih baik mengawasi langsung dari program pengaman anda.

Server
Dukungan file server seperti printer, file untuk berbagi atau share didalam network. Bisa dibutuhkan bisa tidak, bila anda tidak melakukan share antar computer didalam network. Fitur ini dapat dimatikan.

Smart Card
Manages access to smart cards read by this computer. Anda mengunakan Smart Card pada computer anda. Bila tidak sebaiknya dimatikan.

SSDP Discovery Service
Enables discovery of UPnP devices on your home network." Windows akan memonitor hardware lain dengan sistem Plug and Play. Fungsi ini dapat dimatikan bila anda tidak lagi menambah perangkat lain atau hardware yang anda gunakan adalah permanen. Tetapi bila anda mengunakan banyak hardware sebaiknya fitur ini tetap diaktifkan.

System Restore Service
Performs system restore functions. Windows dapat mengembalikan sistem Windows dengan melakukan restore bila set point backup dilakukan. Dengan mengaktifkan system restore akan lebih mudah mengembalikan Windows bila terjadi crash serta malfunction dan mengembalikan Windows XP ke waktu anda melakukan backup.
Ada pendapat, sistem restore tetap diaktifkan karena lebih cepat mengembalikan sistem Windows seperti set point terakhir. Sayangnya sistem ini mengambil space pada storage. Keuntungannya, anda dengan cepat dapat mengembalikan sistem WinXP yang bermasalah
Pilihannya adalah antara kebutuhan anda apakah mengunakan sistem restore untuk mengembalikan Windows dengan penentuan set point yang anda lakukan. Atau mematikan (Disable) tetapi dengan resiko, bila terjadi crash pada Windows anda harus mengulang menginstall kembali. Keuntungan, anda mendapat space storage lebih besar.

TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
Provides user experience theme management support for NetBIOS over TCP/IP (NetBT) service and NetBIOS name resolution. Matikan bila anda tidak memerlukan NetBIOS untuk network.

Themes
Provides user experience theme management. Untuk alasan performa, seperti menampilkan interface Win2000. Fitur ini dapat dijalankan melalui Desktop Properti. Jadi tidak ada alasan module ini diload. Anda dapat mematikan fitur ini.

Uninterruptible Power Supply
Manages an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) connected to the computer. Sudah jelas fungsinya bila anda mengunakan UPS memerlukan fungsi ini, fitur ini khusus hanya untuk UPS yang terhubung ke computer melalui COM port. Bila tidak, dapat mematikan.

Wireless Zero Configuration
Menyediakan fungsi otomatis untuk Wireless network adaptor. Bila anda tidak memiliki perangkat WIFI dapat dimatikan.

WMI Performance Adapter
Provides performance library information from WMI HiPerf providers. Tidak jelas untuk apa, dan dapat dimatikan.

Workstation
Creates and maintains client network connections to remote servers. Jika anda mengunakan sharing file didalam network, biarkan fungsi ini tetap bekerja. Bila anda tidak mengunakan fitur sharing dan computer anda berdiri sendiri / stand alone. Fitur ini dapat dimatikan dan tidak berdampak pada koneksi internet.

dengan cara: start>run>isi dengan msconfig>tab start up> hilangkan centang pada software yang tidak dibutuhkan

Tips Membuat Flashdisk Kebal Virus

Flashdisk anda sering terkena virus? Virus buatan lokal biasanya paling rentan menyerang flashdisk dan media penyebaran utama virus lokal adalah melalui flash disk.

Nah bagaimana dong caranya membuat flash disk anda kebal terhadap virus?

Tutorial Membuat Flashdisk Kebal Virus

1. Buatlah sebuah folder dalam falshdisk anda, dan berikan nama “autorun.inf” (tanpa tanda kutip).

2. Masuk kedalam folder yang baru saja anda buat tersebut dan buatlah sebuah dokumen notepad didalamnya. Caranya klik kanan, pilih NEW > TEXT DOCUMENT, dan berikan sembarang nama untuk file yang baru saja anda buat (hasil akhirnya seperti pada gambar). Nama ini nantinya akan kita ganti dengan beberapa karakter khusus.

3. Setelah itu, kita akan membuka program CHARACTER MAP yang ada di START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > CHARACTER MAP.

4. Setelah CHARACTER MAP terbuka, pilih font yang ada embel2 unicode seperti Arial Unicode atau Lucida Sans Unicode. Scroll kebawah sampai anda melihat huruf2 Jepang, Korea,Cina, ato karakter2 aneh.

5. Pilih 4 atau 5 karakter yang anda inginkan, trus klik copy.

6. Ubah nama ato rename file teks yang telah anda buat pada langkah 2 diatas. Klik kanan pada file tersebut, pilih rename, selanjutnya tekan [CTRL] + [V]. Nama file pun berubah. Jangan kaget bila nantinya anda akan melihat karakter seperti tanda kotak2 saja. Ga papa kok, itu normal kok.

7. Selesaaaaaaiiii….

Q: Kok bisa kebal virus ya?
A: Windows kan ga terima kalo ada 2 file yang mempunyai nama yang sama (smua orang juga tau kan). Nah, karena di FD kita uda ada nama autorun.inf, file lain ga boleh pake tu nama. Jadi virus uda ga bisa pake nama autorun.inf.
Q: Oooo, ga kaya manusia ya yang 1 nama bisa dipake banyak orang…?
A: Betul bro.
Q: Lho, kalo ga bisa dipake, kan virus bisa menghapus sendiri file ntu. Trus buat lagi deh autorun yang sesuai maunya tu virus. Gimana sih bro, tamba pusing ane nih…
A: Itulah gunanya file teks yang kita buat pake nama aneh tadi. Nama2 aneh itu dianggap virus sebagai karakternya Windows, padahal itu kan karakter unicode. Dan virus sendiri rata2 belum mendukung karakter unicode. Sampe botak tu virus ga akan bisa menghapusnya. Akhirnya FD kita aman dan terkendali.
